Bruce Highway – Major Upgrade
The Bruce Highway upgrades will be focused on the Boundary Road Interchange close to Narangba. A 6-lane bridge over the highway will be built to ease congestion and safety.
“The upgrade will see a new six-lane, four-span concrete bridge built over the Bruce Highway including a shared pedestrian and cycle crossing, as well as new signalised intersections at the new exit and entry ramps. It is anticipated the successful tenderer will be announced early next year,” said Mark Bailey, Minister for Main Roads & Road Safety.
These Highway Upgrades are Vital for a Number of Reasons
They are necessary to improve safety first and foremost and aid traffic flow and highway capacity. Both highways have deteriorated over the years and dangerous black spots have been identified. Over the years these stretches of road have claimed numerous lives and these improvements will go a long way to bringing these major traffic arterials up to scratch.
